Many people in Europe will have RGB as the source for their signal but their projector, Tv, Plasma, LCD tv/monitor has only Component inputs. A simple device converting between the two will do the job nicely in realtime. 

Problems arise if your TV or LCD monitor or Plasma or projector was designed to work outside of Europe ( any system running on  60hz as in the USA and the likes, they have their own version of component which does run on 60Hz. Any device like this will of course convert RGB to Component but what it doesn't do is change the refresh rate so if you do have non compatible systems ie a 60HZ device and you hook it up to this 50hz machine, then you will get a rolling picture. If the device was designed to work in Europe on the 50HZ system, then this is not an issue and you can buy confidently knowing that the device will work perfectly for you.Best to check with the manufacturer before purchase if you can.
